This is a protein bar for salt lovers. For those, who add three teaspoons of salt to anything. And a bit more of salt on top of that. This protein bar is
A while ago we reviewed Oatein Oats & Protein Cookie Salted Caramel. It turned out to be ‘a bit’ oversalted, as we wrote back then. Then, the maker of this protein cookie contacted us, asking ‘what the hell? No one said so before!’ (all right, they were much more polite than that, seriously! 😉 ). However, we were nearly sure it’s not our taste buds’ fault, but this cookie is like that
I’m sorry for so long intro, but I wanted you to catch a context. Anyway, this protein bar smells lovely. All flavours – salted caramel and peanuts – are easily detectable. And they’re inviting. This protein bar is really comfortable to bite into it and chew. However, it’s somewhat chewy and a bit sticky. But still, it’s nothing that you should be concerned about, as it doesn’t affect an overall experience in this matter. And the good thing is, this protein bar is so moist you can easily eat it without a sip. At least as long as you don’t mind salty food.
So tasty. And sooo salty.
Forget about its saltiness for a moment. This USN TRUST protein bar tastes delightful. Salted caramel and peanut flavours are really good in their taste. They’re both easily detectable and flavourish. And they’re pleasantly crunchy. And everything would be OK if it wasn’t sooo salty! It’s definitely too salty. And as long as you don’t add salt to anything, including your peanut butter or salted caramel, it may be too much for you. As it was for me. Therefore, this protein bar is not too sweet. And it’s definitely not satisfying.
Do I want another serving of this USN TRUST Crunch protein bar after the first one? Not actually. OK, I may not be the greatest fan of salty food, but even I know salt is one of the main ingredients while cooking. Or baking. Or anything. (Guess who prepares chicken without salt and pepper pretty often?).
A quick look at the macros of this bar says it all. A 100g of this protein bar contains 1.34g of salt. And it looks like it’s too much. I’d say 0.9-1.0g for 100g of product is max if you don’t want to have oversalted anything. Anyway, a 60g bar has 217 kcal, 9g of fat, 16g of carbs (including
But still, considering all the above, it can’t be the finest protein bar on the go. Sorry.
A salty protein bar. That’s interesting, indeed.
USN TRUST CRUNCH High Protein Bar Salted Caramel Peanut Flavour is salty. Too salty. It ruins the overall experience. Therefore, I find it pretty difficult to recommend it to anybody. However, if you like salty protein bars(?), then you should give it a try.
Will I ever go back to this USN TRUST protein bar? I don’t think so. I don’t like
oversweet oversalted protein snacks and I won’t give it another try.

How can it be that protein bar is too salty? It’s impressive. And it ruins the overall experience. Therefore, I find it pretty difficult to recommend it to anybody. However, if you like salty protein bars(?), then you should give it a try. And this one as well.
