A classic composition of flavours, peanut butter and banana. But can it be effective as an energy bar? I’m not so sure about it. But let’s give it a chance and find it out.
TRIBE bars are getting better and better. The first one I reviewed, Choc Salt Caramel, scored not too impressive 5.5/10 pts. Another one, Peanut Butter, was a bit better ending up with an overall score of 5.7/10 pts. And this one, TRIBE Peanut Butter + Banana bar, scored even more than that, landing at 5.9/10 pts of the final score. Not too bad, but it’s still nothing you should worry about. Unless you’re vegan.
By itself, a composition of peanut butter and banana is not too fragrant. And that’s what we’ve got here. There’s a peanut butter aroma easily detectable. And there’s a bit of banana too. However, there’s not much scent of the latter. But still, it’s appetising and inviting. A somewhat softish on the outside, this energy bar is alike on the inside. So it means there should be no problem with biting into it. However, this bar is somewhat chewy and sticky. So a sip may come in handy while eating it.
Peanut butter and banana flavour. At 50%.
This TRIBE energy bar is not too flavourish. Although peanut butter and banana flavours are easily detectable, they lack their intense. Their composition of taste is pleasant and tasty, but it’s pretty far from what we know from a regular tastes of them. Despite it, this bar is pleasant in its taste. However, keep in mind it’s not sweet and it’s a bit far from being a satisfying one.
Do I want another serving of this TRIBE energy bar after the first one? Not actually. It’s not bad, but it’s not what I’m after in this kind of flavour.
It’s supposed to be an energy bar, but looking at its macros, I’m not so sure about it. A 50g bar has 232 kcal, as much as 13g of fat, only 18g of carbs and slightly largish 7.6g of protein. The ingredients list is not too impressive, too, as there’s brown rice sugar in it.
And these are the reasons it can’t be the finest energy bar on the go.
In an endless search for energy.
TRIBE Peanut Butter + Banana Infinity Energy Bar has not a bad name. But it turns out to be not too energetic. It’s also not the best in the term of its flavour. And macros. And ingredients. Therefore, it’s hard to recommend it to anybody. Unless you’re vegan. As this energy bar is vegan-friendly.
Will I ever go back to this energy bar? Not actually. It’s not that bad when it comes to its flavour. But it’s not too energetic, not too natural. Therefore, I’ll pick something else instead of that, I guess.
