Natural protein bar with Choc(
olate)? Why not! Too bad, there’s… not much chocolate in it. Therefore, it’s not the most esteemed tribesman.
I really love natural protein anything. You know, with a short ingredients list, with natural (or raw) ingredients and so on. And if there’s also a bit (or a bit more) of flavour, then I’m on cloud nine. That configuration is not too often, but if you choose, for example, Pro2Go Raw Protein Bar Pecan & Caramel, you’ll see and taste what it should taste like. Because it won’t be so evident with this TRIBE Choc Peanut Butter Natural Protein Bar.
This natural protein bar smells lovely. The peanut butter flavour is intense and easily detectable. The only problem here is, there was supposed to be a choc(olate) flavour in this bar too, but it’s not noticeable at all. Anyway, despite it, this bar is still inviting. A somewhat softish on the outside, this snack is alike on the inside. It’s not that it’s not too comfortable to eat, but it’s not top notch. A pretty chewy bar is also sticky. And a bit dryish. Therefore, it’s better to have a sip while eating it.
A natural protein bar. Not too sweet, neither satisfying.
This TRIBE Choc Peanut Butter bar is pretty tasty. And again, Peanut Butter flavour is easily detectable and tasty. I wouldn’t change anything in that. What I would change, however, is the chocolate flavour. Or rather, a lack of it. Although it’s present on the packaging of this bar, you won’t find it in its flavour. But forget about it. Once you decide you want Peanut Butter-only bar, this is the one you should go for. And another reason for that is there’s no weird aroma or aftertaste in it. That’s good. What is not so good, however, this bar is not sweet either satisfying.
Do I want another serving of this TRIBE Choc Peanut Butter after the first one? Not actually. It was not bad, pretty tasty, but I was missing that promised choc flavour in it.
The macros of this protein bar are not spectacular. A 50g bar has 225 kcal, 13g of fat, 13g of carbs (including 13g of sugar – no typos here) and only 11g of protein. Not too impressive. The same as the ingredients list, as there are brown rice syrup and date syrup. Well, this is not what I call ‘natural’.
And these not-so-natural ingredients mean it can’t be the finest protein bar on the go.
A tasty and natural bar that misses some flavours.
TRIBE Choc Peanut Butter Natural Protein Bar is not the best tribesman. It’s not that bad in many aspects, but it’s also not too spectacular. On top of that, its macros are not perfect and the ingredients list could be more natural. Therefore, it’s not a bad protein bar, but it has nothing you’d want to come back to.
Will I ever go back to this TRIBE natural protein bar? Not actually. It’s not that bad eventually. But ‘not that bad’ is still not enough to be a bar I would want to come back to. So I won’t.
