TREK Morning Berry Protein Flapjack

Good morning, Berries. I need a bit of energy. Is this TREK Morning Berry protein flapjack a reliable source of energy? I’ll try to find it out.

TREK Protein flapjacks are those ‘gloriously gluten free‘ ones. And that’s great, as the more options, the better. However, I’m not sure these are the tastiest ones. The Original Oat flapjack from this range scored recently a not so glorious 5.5/10 pts (which means ‘fair’), while Oat Raisin flavour was just a slightly better than that getting 6.4/10 pt (which means ‘good’). Is TREK Morning Berry protein flapjack even better? It’s not. But at the same time, it’s not worse. Good morning and let’s have this review done.

TREK Morning Berry Protein Flapjack

What a smell! This protein flapjack smells lovely. Berries fruits scent is intense and easily detectable. And, of course, appetising and inviting. This is what a great aroma should look like. This barely chewy and sticky treat is still pretty effortless to eat. Also, it’s a bit crumbly. And slightly dryish. Therefore, no problem with eating it, but a sip or two may come in handy.

That said, the taste of this TREK protein flapjack is somewhat disappointing.

Forget about a flavourish and delicious taste. All we’ve got here is Berries flavour, but it’s a bit too bland. It’s not that this flapjack is terrible, but after THAT smell I expected much more in the matter of taste. Also, there’s a touch of oats aroma but, on a par with the taste, it’s not too intense. And last, but not least, this TREK protein flapjack is pretty crunchy. I like it.

Do I want another serving after the first one? Not actually. I’d like it to be tastier, but it looks it’s nothing to be found here.

TREK Morning Berry Protein Flapjack

Macros of this TREK flapjack are pretty nice. A 50g snack has 216 kcal, 9.6g of fat, 21.1g of carbs and a modest 10.2g of protein. The ingredients list, however, contains palm fat and rice syrup. It’s not perfect then.

Therefore, it can’t be a sustainable protein flapjack on the go. So it’s not too reliable energy source after all.

Goodbye, Berries.

TREK Morning Berry Protein Flapjack

TREK Morning Berries Protein Flapjack is simply disappointing. After a great start with its aroma, it’s getting worse after that. It’s not too flavourish, it’s slightly dryish and the ingredients list is just poor. So at the end of the day, this protein flapjack is nothing special. You can skip it and definitely you won’t lose much. At least if you expect it to be something else than a source of beautiful Berries scent. And I guess you do.

Will I ever go back to this protein flapjack? Let me put it this way: Good morning bye TREK Berry Protein Flapjack.
