This energy bar is chaotic. It promises something different than it delivers. And a bit of cocoa won’t change much here.
This is nothing new, but I have just spotted it recently. An energy bars from TREK. Not too bad. Hopefully, they’re going to be worth to give it a try. And I will find it out with the first bar of this kind in our reviews, TREK Cocoa Chaos Wholefood Energy Bar. Come one! Let’s go!
This energy bar is not too appetising. There’s a bit of oats aroma detectable. Also, some may say there’s a touch of cocoa flavour in it too, but I wouldn’t be so sure about it. Anyway, a stone tough on the outside, this energy bar is pretty soft on the inside. That means there should be no problem with biting into it. This bar is barely chewy and sticky. And it’s slightly crunchy. And as it’s somewhat dryish, a sip may come in handy while eating it.
This is chaos, as there’s no cocoa in the flavour here.
So you know it already. There’s no cocoa flavour in this energy bar. What is instead of that, however, is a flavour of dates (33% in the ingredients list). And raisins (12%). There’s also that specific oats flavour. And that’s it. No cocoa flavour which means a bit of chaos here. Anyway, this protein bar tastes not that bad. It has a somewhat pleasant taste and it’s not too sweet. But I wouldn’t say it’s satisfying in any way.
Do I want another serving of this TREK Energy Bar after the first one? I don’t think so. It wasn’t bad, but where’s that cocoa in it?
Go, go, go! The macros! A 55g bar has 186 kcal, only 3.5g of fat (that’s good!), 27.3g of carbs (a bit too little) and 10g of protein (a bit too much). It’s not too bad. However, the ingredients list is amazing, as there’s no added sugar, no palm oil, no syrups — only natural ingredients.
Can it be the finest energy bar on the go then? Unfortunately not. All because of misleading information regarding its taste on the packaging.
This is the real chaos.
TREK Cocoa Chaos Wholefood Energy Bar has its advantages. An amazing ingredients list is one of them. Another one is… well… it looks like that’s it. What I can also see here is a problem with its flavour. It says its cocoa chaos. And I couldn’t agree more with that. It’s chaos, as there’s no cocoa flavour in it. And I don’t like such misleading information anywhere, especially on my food. Sorry.
Will I ever go back to this energy bar? I don’t think so. I’m not going to remember that this Cocoa bar is dates and raisin one in fact. So no, no chances to go back to it. However, there are some chances to get back to this TREK energy bar.
