A protein cookie with a twist. The first bite is not too appealing, but the further you go, the better it gets. But still, it’s not getting too far, as in the whole this treat is just mediocre.
Let’s make it clear. This branding is one of the worst on the market of (protein) treats. All that cadaveric and sinful connotations seem to be great for scaring 10 years old kids. Something like ‘eat it. Otherwise, you’ll look like them’. OMG! So pathetic. It could be even not that bad, but these treats are boring as hell. You don’t have to look far to find it. Sinfit Caramel Crunch Flavor Double Layer High Protein Bar scored the overall score as low as 3.7/10 pts, while Sinfit Chocolate Crunch Flavor Double Layer High Protein Crunch Bar ended up with only 4.4/10 pts. And another Sinfit protein cookie, Peanut Butter one, scored only 4.8/10 pts. Anyway, it’s not that bad in this case, but still, the overall score doesn’t pass 5/10 pts.
It’s not that bad when it comes to the smell of this protein cookie. There’s a lot of sweetness detectable here. But it goes along with bitterish too. It’s nothing appealing or inviting though. Anyway, this cookie is really tough on the outside, while it’s pretty softish on the inside. It’s not too easy to bite into it, but it’s not too hard either. It’s just OK. This cookie is noticeably chewy and slightly stick to the teeth. It’s also somewhat thick and its texture seems to be a bit rubber-ish. The latter is the reason you may need a sip while eating it.
The taste wise thing it’s a bit weird. The first bite of it seems to be, well, not too tasty.
It has a somewhat chemical taste and it’s definitely nothing pleasant. What’s surprising, following bite makes it different. Then, it changes to a pretty pleasant and sweet taste. And although there’s a slightly bitterish aroma too, it may make its way as a sweet and satisfying treat. However, no vanilla icing or fruit flavoured bits are detectable here. Therefore, I give it 6.0 pts in this department. It means it’s not too bad, but it could be better for sure.
Am I fancy another serving after the first one? Nope. It’s not a bad cookie when it comes to its taste. But the very first experience coming with the first bite is not too pleasant. Therefore, one serving is OK for me.
When it comes to macros, it still could be better. A 78g cookie delivers a largish 310 kcal, 12g of fat, 35g of carbs (of which 7g of sugar) and an OK 20g of protein. The ingredients list includes added sugar, palm fat and corn syrup. Not good, not good.
This means one thing: this can’t be a sustainable protein cookie on the go. No.
An average protein cookie with a boring, infernal branding.
Hey, Sinfit Protein Cookie Birthday Cake Cookie. That infernal branding doesn’t act in your favour. Anyway, I wouldn’t mind it if this treat was tasty and macro- and ingredients friendly. But it’s not. Also, it’s only OK when it comes to the ease of eating it. So overall, it’s nothing special. Or I can assure you there are much better protein cookies on the market, like MyProtein Lean Cookie Chocolate & Berry or MyProtein Baked Protein Cookie Chocolate. Or another Birthday Cake flavoured protein treats, like Grenade Carb Killa Birthday Cake High Protein Bar.
Will I ever go back to this protein cookie? It may happen but after my dead body. Definitely.
