This is a great energy + protein bar for almond flavour lovers. A not too bad alternative to almond fat- and sugar-packed anything. Well worth to give it a try.
Scitec Nutrition, what is not a big surprise actually, has a varied portfolio of protein snacks. Some of them, like Chocolate Coffee Cake or Chocolate Raspberry Cream, are pretty good. However, Dark Chocolate Sensation bar turned out to be excellently lovely and highly palatable, scoring pretty good 7.2/10 pts. But this Scitec Nutrition Chocolate Almond Bar is not that good. Anyway, it may find its fans definitely.
This Scitec Nutrition Choco Pro energy protein bar is not too fragrant. Still, there’s a lot of almond aroma in it, but it lacks a chocolate scent definitely. Besides that, it’s pretty appealing and inviting. A somewhat softish on the outside, this bar is a bit softer inside. So I guess no one should have any problem with biting into it. A middling chewy bar is a bit sticky. And this is the reason you may need a sip to wash it down.
Loads of almond. And not much of chocolate in this Chocolate Almond bar.
This bar has a lovely almond flavour. It’s flavourish and easily detectable. However, it lacks a chocolate flavour. It’s not that there’s no chocolate at all, but it could be much, much more of it. And that means this flavour could be balanced a bit better. Anyway, this bar is tasty and decently sweet (but still not oversweet). And if you like almond flavour, it may be highly satisfying too.
Do I want another serving of this Scitec Nutrition Chocolate Almond bar after the first serving? Nearly. It was really good, it was tasty, but eventually, it was a bit too sweet for me. Therefore, one serving is OK for me.
Let’s have a look then at its macros. And this might be a bit tricky, as there’s no information what this bar is. Is it a protein bar? Is it an energy bar? Anything else? Well, hard to say. The only information on suggested use is a mention of ‘eat 1 bar whenever you need energy and protein’. So it may be an energy and protein bar after all. Let it be. The macros of this bar are pretty OK then, as a single 55g bar has 212 kcal, 5.8g of fat, 22g of carbs and 18g of protein. The ingredients list contains added sugar,
palm vegetable oil and high fructose corn syrup. Well…
And these are the reasons this bar can’t be the finest carbs + protein bar on the go.
A mysterious Scitec Nutrition bar with a pretty good flavour (although without much of chocolate)
Scitec Nutrition CHOCO PRO Chocolate Almond flavour is not a bad bar. It is somewhat comfortable to it, it tastes not bad and its macros are OK. What is not OK, however, is the function of this bar and its ingredients. Therefore, it overall gets only 6.1/10 pts, which means more or less ‘there’s a bar like that, but it’s pretty far from being a significant one’.
And feel free to treat it like that. Or at least I will do that, saying I’d rather won’t come back to this energy+protein bar. It wasn’t bad in its taste, but that ingredients are nothing I’d want to go back to. However, this one from this range might be the one I’ll come back to, eventually.
