This is a protein bar you can easily skip. And this is not what I expected from PhD Diet Whey bar.

After a luscious and satisfying Salted Caramel bar, I thought another bar from this range, PhD Diet Whey Triple Choc Cookie, will be at least a very good one. Unfortunately, it’s another average bar that is not worth your money or even your attention. But, for a change, this review of it is, so you know why you should skip it.

I’m always a bit sceptical when it comes to many flavours in a single bar. Here we’ve got four of them, three flavours of chocolate and a cookie one. And the result of it is that although it smells pretty OK, you can forget about being able to distinguish all three chocolate flavours in it. Despite it, this smell is inviting. Going further, this bar is pretty softish both on the outside and inside. And although it’s a bit toughish on the inside, it’s still pretty comfortable to bite into it. Also, it’s somewhat chewy, but not too sticky. However, considering its taste, I’d recommend sipping while eating it.

Triple chocolate, cookie and the bitterness.


This protein cookie is not… Well, it’s pretty far from being perfect. Or even a desirable one. The first flavour you’ll detect is… No, it’s not chocolate or cookie. It’s bitterness. After that, your taste buds will find a bit of chocolate and even less of cookies in the flavour of this protein bar. And although this snack is pretty sweet (still, not oversweet), I’m far from saying it could be a satisfying one.

Do I want another serving of this PhD Diet Whey Protein Bar after the first one? Not at all. It’s sweet, but at the same time, it’s not too tasty. Therefore, one bar is enough for me.

Let’s have a quick look at the macros of this bar, as it’s not that bad. A 65g bar has only 199 kcal, 5g of fat, 20g of carbs (of which only 1.9g of sugar) and a rounded 20g of protein. Not too bad. However, longer than your weekly shopping list, the ingredients list contains palm oil. And this is nothing good.

This means it’s not the finest protein bar on the go.

This PhD Diet Whey Triple Choc Cookie protein bar is surprisingly mediocre. It doesn’t taste even OK, it doesn’t have good ingredients and the overall experience is not good either. And although it has pretty good macros, it’s still not enough to say ‘it’s OK’. Therefore, I say: it’s not OK.

Will I ever go back to this protein bar? I won’t. To put it short: it’s not worth my money and my macros. Not telling about my taste buds. Sad, but true.
