This is a Salted Caramel flavour bar at its best. It’s tasty, it’s intensive and it has not too many calories. And it’ll make its way as a sweet treat. A must try for Salted Caramel lovers. From PhD.
I do like some brands more than others. It’s natural. However, I always give every bar trust. Even if I had it in the past. Who knows what could change since then? New recipe? Better processing? Changed branding? There are many possibilities it may change mine or your perception of a specific protein bar. Fortunately, Diet Whey Salted Caramel protein bar from PhD hasn’t changed too much in the last year. That’s why this is still a great protein bar. And I will tell you now why I think so.
The smell. It’s nothing complicated to make a protein bar with a pleasant aroma. It’s not it’s a piece of cake (bar?) neither. However, PhD made it perfectly here. This bar has a great aroma. Salted Caramel scent is effortlessly detectable, it’s sweet and inviting. The bar is soft on the outside, being also softish inside. Therefore, it won’t make any troubles with biting into it and chewing. However, the treat itself is pretty chewy, but hardly sticks to the teeth. Anyway, it’s nothing you should be worried about.
The taste. By way of contrast, there is some kind of art to make a delicious protein snack. And again, PhD did it great, as this bar is highly palatable.
It has a lovely Salted Caramel taste. It’s very intensive and deep. Also, it’s solid sweet, but definitely not oversweet. Very precisely right on the spot. And it’s remarkably delightful and satisfying. And nicely crunchy inside, thanks to the protein crisps. This protein bar makes its way as a sweet treat (hence it gets an extra 0.5 pts in this department). Great job!
Do I want another serving after the first one? Oh, definitely! Considering its taste and little macros… Do you have another one?
Macros. It’s another thing that might go out of control. Especially when the bar is sweet and tasty. But not here. A 65g bar has only 199 kcal, 4.9g of fat, a slightly biggish 20g of carbs (and only 1.7g of sugar) and a nice 21g of protein. Impressing. Although the ingredients list is so long it takes about 15 minutes to read it, there’s only a palm fat there I didn’t like. Could be better, but it’s not too bad after all.
And as there’s a palm fat there, this bar can’t get our title of sustainable protein bar on the go. Sorry.
WOW! It’s a Salted Caramel protein bar at its best.
Without any surprise, this PhD Diet Whey Salted Caramel protein bar confirmed its form. It’s one of the best, if not the best protein treat of this taste out there. It smells great, it tastes lovely, it’s relatively easy to eat and… do you have another one, please? It’s definitely a must for Salted Caramel flavour lovers. And for others too. Therefore, that’s a great stock filler not only for a rainy day!
Will I ever go back to this protein bar? Definitely! And I guess it will happen sooner than I think. And I assume it’s my new salted caramel protein bar to go.
