This flapjack is a huge one! And it may be a great option as a regular meal. Too bad it’s not a protein flapjack per se. As there’s not enough protein in it.
Haha, it might seem to be ridiculous, but it’s not a proper protein flapjack per se. The thing is, I saw it in an online store in the ‘protein flapjacks‘ department, so I bought it straight away. I tasted it, reviewed it and then I realised it’s not a real protein flapjack. But that’s OK, as it could happen to any of you. Just a mistake, misunderstanding (thank you, my favourite online store with a dolphin in their logo). But no worries, as it’s already here, I’m not going to give up and I carry on with a regular review of it (and most likely some other flavours from this range pretty soon). Lol, just lol.
Anyway (still lol, you know?), the smell of this Nutrend flapjack is just OK. There’s a lot of almond scent here, but just a bit of chocolate aroma. It’s nothing to be appetising, but it’s also not repulsive though. A somewhat toughy flapjack is middling comfortable to eat, but it should not be any significant problems with that here. This snack is slightly chewy and tries to stick to the teeth noticeably. Also, it’s somewhat dryish, so as a reason of that (less) a sip (than more) two of them may come in handy to wash it down.
When it comes to the taste, it’s pretty pleasant. There are both chocolate and almond flavours detectable.
But again, I wouldn’t mind if they were both more intense. Furthermore, if you don’t like oats taste, this might be a good option for you, as you won’t find it here. Additionally, this flapjack is sweet, but not too sweet. Also, it’s a bit bland and indistinct. However, it may make its way as a sweet snack, but it’s rather not too satisfying at the same time. And last, but not least, there’s no weird aroma or aftertaste in it. Good.
Do I want another serving of this flapjack after the first one? Not actually. Not that this flapjack is terrible, but it’s too big to have two servings at once!
That’s right, this flapjack is huuuge, as it weighs a massive 100g! Therefore, its macros are really largish. In a single bar there’s a whopping 418 kcal, a large amount of 17.2g of fat, a staggering 55.6g of carbs and a tiny, virtually unnoticeable 6.6g of protein. Hmm. That may be the reason why it’s not a protein flapjack at all? Most likely, haha! And the ingredients list doesn’t look too good, either, as there’s palm fat in it.
Can it be a sustainable protein flapjack on the go? Well, I guess it can’t, as it’s not a protein flapjack. Lol!
I’m sorry, my fault. This is not a protein flapjack at all.
As you already know, I was pretty horny to buy as many protein flapjacks as possible. And I missed the fact it’s not a protein flapjack at all (once again, thanks, dolphins!). And I don’t have anything for my excuse. The only thing you can do if you bought it already, is to split it into two servings and enjoy it as a regular snack. And that’s what I… didn’t do as I’m too greedy for any (not only protein) snacks, treats and other sweet-related stuff.
Will I ever go back to this, that flapjack? Most likely not. But if someone asks me if it’s worth to give it a try, then I will say: try it for yourself. At least as long as that person isn’t a gym freak or having nutrition control disorder. 😛

A huuuge amount of macros per serving (100g flapjack) It won’t make its way as a satisfying sweet treat
