This cookie claims it has 38g of protein. But I say ‘so what?’. All of that, because it’s pretty far from being pleasant, tasty or desirable. Boom!
I don’t understand why you’d want to buy a protein cookie with a massive amount of protein in it? Like, let’s say, 38g? Eventually, they’re usually not too tasty. Just have a look at all protein cookies from MyProtein we reviewed so far. NONE of these having 38g of protein scored more than 5/10 pts in the ‘taste’ category. On the other hand, the ones with a much lower amount of protein were able to score an impressive 8/10 pts in this criterion and more. Coincidence? I don’t think so! And this myProtein Protein Cookie Oat & Raisin is the same – it contains 38g of protein and it’s not too tasty… What a surprise!
Also, a small surprise is the smell of this protein cookie. It smells nice with both flavours, oat and raisin, easily detectable. It’s definitely pleasant and inviting. A pretty soft on the outside, this protein cookie is only softish inside. And it’s significantly thick. Therefore, it’s not the most comfortable protein cookie to bite into it and eat. But at the same time, you shouldn’t struggle with it too much. Anyway, this protein snack is significantly chewy and only slightly sticky. However, considering its thickness, having a sip at hand wouldn’t be a bad idea for some.
Reduced in sugar, reduced in flavour.
This protein cookie from MyProtein is not the tastiest one. There are oats and raisins easily detectable. However, there’s also a significantly noticeable addition of bitterness. And it may be caused by a high amount of protein in this snack. In a word, this cookie is not too pleasant in its taste. Also, it’s sweet. And that sweetness resembles a sweetener. The good thing is, however, this cookie is not too sweet or oversweet. But it’s more like cold comfort, as it’s not satisfying as well.
Do I want another serving of this MyProtein Protein Cookie after the first one? Not actually. A load of bitterness is not what I’m looking for in a protein snack.
A quick look at macros of this cookie says it all. It’s a massive protein cookie with 316 kcal in one serving (75g cookie). It also has 9g of fat, 21g of carbs (of which 4.5g of sugar) and a pretty biggish 38g of protein. The ingredients list contains added sugar and palm oil. Not the best combination, indeed.
That’s why it’s not the finest protein cookie on the go.
A very protein cookie. With a very bitterish taste.
MyProtein Protein Cookie Oat & Raisin is disappointing. It contains as much as 38g of protein per serving, but this is the only advantage of this cookie. It’s also not too tasty, it has big macros and inferior ingredients. And this is not the price I’m ready to pay for a bit more of protein in it.
Will I ever go back to this protein cookie from MyProtein? I don’t think so. And there are no other cookies from MyProtein containing 38g of protein I’d want to come back to.
