This is not the best protein cookie from MyProtein. But this is the one I can recommend. In some circumstances. For a specific situation. For some people. It sounds like loads of conditions, but still, it’s better than nothing, isn’t it?
I’m not too convinced to protein cookies with an exaggerated amount of calories. Many of them are like from 300-350 kcal, but they still contain only 18-23g of protein. Not a good deal, considering many protein bars are 200-220 kcal and they deliver 18-23g of protein. But MyProtein has a couple of protein cookies with a really high amount of protein, precisely 38g of it. Like Cookies & Cream, Oat & Raisin or Rocky Road. The problem is, however, none of them is good in taste. But not here. This MyProtein Protein Cookie Double Chocolate is both, really high in protein and pretty tasty. Are you surprised? Either
This protein cookie smells not too bad. I’m sure I was able to distinguish two different flavours of chocolate in its fragrance. But at the same time, I wasn’t able to name them precisely. So let’s say it’s chocolatey. Anyway, that scent could be just a bit more intense. But still, it is pretty inviting. A nicely soft on the outside, this cookie is softish on the inside. And I would say there should be no problem with biting into it. Still, some may say its texture is ‘a bit’ too thick. As it is. Due to that, this snack is middling chewy, but it’s not too sticky. Also, this cookie may seem to be a bit dryish once you eat more than half of it, so be prepared to have a sip while eating it.
Loads of chocolate. And flavour. That’s promising.
When I saw this cookie contains as much as 38g of protein, I was a bit disappointed. You know, other MyProtein cookies loaded with protein were, well, not too tasty. But this one is surprisingly good in that matter. It’s really chocolaty (but again, I wasn’t too careful to name both of them while eating it). It has a pleasant and enjoying flavour. There’s also no weird aroma of aftertaste. However, it’s decently sweet, but still not oversweet. It was achieved by adding some sweeteners to it and it’s detectable. It’s not that bad, but it’s there. And that makes this cookie somehow satisfying one. Not too bad.
Do I want another serving of this MyProtein protein cookie after the first one? Not actually. What put me off was that thick texture of it.
When it comes to macros… Well, this cookie is loaded with it. A 75g cookie has 320 kcal, 9.9g of fat, 19.5g of carbs (including 7.3g of sugar) and a whopping amount of protein, 38g. Wow, that’s brave. The ingredients list is not anything exciting, as there is added sugar and palm oil in it.
Therefore, it can’t be the finest protein cookie on the go.
However! I have found a pretty good context of using this cookie. As it’s pretty tasty and loaded with protein, it can be not a bad alternative if you’re on a rush and you want to top up your daily intake of protein. Yep, you’ll also get some sugar and palm fat with it, but sometimes it doesn’t matter. Especially, it will make its way as a decently sweet and satisfying protein snack.
A surprisingly tasty cookie from MyProtein. Hurray!
This MyProtein Protein Cookie Double Chocolate is surprisingly good. It’s not the best one. It’s not top-notch. But it may come in handy in specific situations. It’s not too difficult to eat, it’s tasty, it not that terrible when it comes to macros. But it’s decently sweet and contains as much as 38g of protein. Because sometimes, when you’re very busy, you are more prone to turn a blind eye to this or that. At least as long as it’s not a taste, but macros.
Will I ever go back to this protein cookie from MyProtein? I’m surprised by this answer as well, but it may eventually happen. If I know I’m going to be in a rush and have no time to prepare my food, then I wouldn’t have any hesitation in grabbing this protein guy. However, this Double Chocolate protein cookie from a well-known brand I wouldn’t.
