This is a protein bar for those who like chewing barbells. And gym mats. And they got pretty good developed muscles. Of their jaw. In a short, terrible.
This is the most shocking protein bar in the matter of ease of eating I recently reviewed. No surprise its name is Muscle Milk Protein Vanilla Almond flavour. Eventually, who would want to eat tasteless barbells or gym mats, right? Anyway, I can tell it straight away: don’t buy it. It’s not worth your anything.
When I saw this protein bar, I thought ‘It’s going to be pretty crispy. Yay!’. But what I got, in fact, turned out to be a bit shocking. Particularly, it smells pretty nice. Although the fragrance of this protein bar is not too intense, there are vanilla and almond flavours easily detectable. And it may be inviting for some. Anyway, this bar is extremely tough both on the outside and on the inside. That means biting into it and chewing it is really, and I mean really uncomfortable. Extremely uncomfortable. Also, this bar is decently chewy and sticky. And you may need a sip to wash it down. At least once you decide you want to eat it, eventually.
It’s struggling. It’s really struggling. And it’s pretty strange.
This bar is extremely crispy. Most likely because of its coating loaded with soya crisps I guess. Anyway, there are vanilla and almond flavours effortlessly noticeable and pretty well balanced, but they’re not too intense. However, there’s also a bitterish aroma in this bar. It’s not easy to find it with the first bite. But it’s getting more and more detectable with the following ones. Furthermore, this bar is not too sweet and it’s not too satisfying. And that feeling is strengthened by the not too pleasant texture of this protein bar.
Am I fancy another serving of this Muscle Milk Protein bar after the first one? Not at all! Although it’s not too big, it was a struggle to eat it down. So nope, thank you, don’t want it.
As this bar is tiny (it only weighs 35g), its macros are not too exaggerated. A single bar has only 151 kcal, 5.6g of fat, 15g of carbs (of which 9.1g of sugar) and a tiny 11g of protein. It more looks like a protein snack than a regular protein bar. And as these macros are not too bad, the ingredients list is awful. It contains added sugar, glucose syrup, glucose-fructose syrup and fructose-glucose syrup. Poor!
There are many, many reasons why this bar can’t be the finest protein bar on the go.
It’s shockingly struggle to eat this protein bar.
Muscle Milk Protein Vanilla Almond Flavour protein bar is shocking. It’s so uncomfortable to eat that it should be disqualified from any reviews. But I didn’t do that. Anyway, besides being extremely tough, it’s also not too tasty and not too healthy. Other than that, it’s perfect.
(No, it’s not in fact. I was joking).
Will I ever go back to this Muscle Milk Protein bar? I won’t. Definitely.
