From Olympic medals to B&M? Why not! Mo Farah proves that you can win a couple of gold Olympic medals and still be seen in these stores. Mo Protein Caramel Crisp is another affordable protein bar we review. Is it going to win another gold medal for him?
If you don’t know, Mo Farah is the most successful British track athlete in modern Olympic Games. He won a couple of gold medals here and there. And now he wants to win your heart and your wallet with his affordable protein bar. Is it going to be better than a similar pretty cheap protein bar from ASDA, Peanut & Caramel flavour? Let’s find it out and give him another title. Or not.
All right, this protein bar is not super perfect. But it’s surprising in a couple of aspects. One of them is its smell, as it smells lovely! Caramel is easily detectable and crisps… well… what cereal crisps smell like at all? Heh, never mind. This bar is appealing and inviting. And although it’s pretty tough on the outside, it’s comfortable soft on the inside. Therefore, no problem with biting into it at all. Furthermore, it’s also somewhat chewy, but it only sticks to the teeth a bit. Nothing to be worried about here. Also, it’s pleasantly moist, so many can eat it without a sip. So let’s get to the point.
This bar is decently tasty and satisfying.
Ok, we had a similar situation with SuperFit Protein Fresh Bar Cookies & Cream Flavour from Poundland, but I didn’t expect it here as well. Mo’s protein bar is simply tasty! Caramel, in the form of a layer under the milk chocolate coating, is very intensive and flavourish. It has that smooth double taste of sweet and a touch of saltiness. But it may be too heavy for some. Anyway, it’s accompanied by milk chocolate coating and crunchy cereal crisps. That composition is well balanced, placing somewhere at the end of my sweetness scale, but still being easily acceptable. Therefore, this protein bar is tasty, satisfying and fulfilling. WOW!
Do I want another serving after the first one? Although it was decently sweet, I wouldn’t mind having a bit more of it.
When it comes to macros, these numbers are not PB one, but they’re still strong enough to put it ahead of the pack. A 55g bar has only 200 kcal, 7.4g of fat, 16g of carbs (of which
Can it be a sustainable protein bar on the go? It was so close to this title, but if it only was a bit softer on the outside…
Not in the lifetime form, but good enough to be on the top.
Mo Protein Caramel Crisp Protein Bar surprises. It looks inconspicuously but it’s very good. It smells lovely, it tastes great, it has robust macros and nearly perfect ingredients. Well worth a silver medal. The only thing is, it lacks a bit of appearance. But at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter that much.
Will I ever go back to this protein bar? Definitely! It’s super cheap, it’s delicious, it has solid macros and reliable ingredients. I buy it. Literally.
