A surprisingly good protein flapjack. With a remarkably tasty flavour. With surprisingly bad ingredients. Too bad, as it could be an excellent snack.
It’s not too easy to make a tasty and healthy protein flapjacks. Good taste or good ingredients – you have to make a choice. There are only a couple of them worth your attention, like my favourite so far PhD SmartJack Apple Crumble or nearly as good as that Oatein Cherry Bakewell. Many others are, well, just meh. And this Lumber Jack Ginger, Orange & Dark Chocolate would be a pretty nice one. If only I didn’t read the ingredients list…
It all starts pretty well, as this protein flapjack smells pretty nice. Although I wasn’t able to notice a ginger whiff, an orange and dark chocolate scent is easily detectable. And it’s inviting. A pretty OK in its firmness snack is somewhat comfortable to eat, although it may be toughish for some while biting into it. What was surprising a bit, this flapjack is a bit chewy and even a bit more sticky. But still, it’s nothing you should be worried about. What you should worry about, however, is a sip while eating it. It may come in handy.
This is a surprisingly tasty protein flapjack. With ginger.
And it’s not too surprising, considering its flavour. All three elements – ginger, orange and dark chocolate – are easily detectable. And decently tasty. All of them all well balanced and complement each other (ginger flavour is not too strong, but it’s still there). What’s interesting, there’s no oaty or any other weird aroma or aftertaste in this protein flapjack. And that’s pretty good. However, dark chocolate is only a flavoured topping. But it seems to have good flavour, not affecting the overall experience. Anyway, this flapjack is pretty tasty and sweet. And it will make its way as a sweet and satisfying snack.
Do I want another serving of this Lumber Jack flapjack after the first one? I wish, but ‘accidentally’ I read the ingredients list. And that was not too necessary…
Oh, so if we talk about these things. The ingredients list contains added sugar, palm oil, sugar syrup and rice syrup. Well, it could be much better. Anyway, the macros are not too bad, as a 65g flapjack has 272 kcal, 11g of fat, 28g of carbs and 14g of protein. Not too spectacular, but not too bad, either.
Can it be the finest protein flapjack on the go? With these ingredients, there’s no chance for that. Sorry, Jack.
Surprisingly good, tasty and refreshing orange and chocolate snack.
This Lumber Jack Ginger, Orange & Dark Chocolate flavoured protein flapjack is surprisingly good. It’s not too difficult to eat, it has an exciting flavour and its macros are not that bad. What I would change here, however, is that inferior ingredients list. And this is what puts me off here.
Will I ever go back to this Lamber Jack protein flapjack? I would. If only ingredients would be much better than they’re at the moment.
