Shufflers are back! These two guys claim their protein cookie has 16g of protein and 10g of fibre. The only thing they ‘forget’ to mention is these values are correct for two servings of this cookie, which means one cookie. This is ridiculous.
Pretty good 16g of protein and 10g of fibre per cookie sounds not too bad, right? But what if I told you one cookie is two servings? In other words, the packaging of this protein cookie tells the macros of two servings instead of one. It’s something like you’d find information about, let’s say, the protein content of a tub of whey protein. For example, a 900g tub that would say on its front there’s 720g of protein. Sounds ridiculous, right? And this is what we’ve had with another Lenny & Larry’s Birthday Cake protein cookie. And this is what we’ve got here, with Choc-O-Mint one. It’s not too
Anyway, this cookie is not perfect when it comes to its smell. There’s too much of mint and too little of chocolate in its scent. It’s not too bad, but it’s mintier than chocolate. But still, as it’s not too popular flavour, it’s inviting. Furthermore, being a baked cookie, it’s soft both on the outside and on the inside. To put it straight – no problem with biting into it. A somewhat chewy and sticky, this cookie is still quite comfortable to eat. And there should be not a problem to eat it without a sip.
Too much of mint, too little of chocolate.
This Choc-O-Mint is more like Mint-O-Choc. All of that, because there’s much more mint in its flavour than chocolate. I’d say the mint flavour is pretty predominant over chocolate flavour, taking over a lot of space for itself. Not much left for a chocolate flavour, but still, it’s detectable. Anyway, they could be balanced a bit better. The good thing is, there’s no weird aroma or aftertaste. And that’s not surprising, considering mint flavour is pretty strong. Anyway, this cookie is not too sweet and I found it rather not too satisfying too. But your mileage may vary.
I ate one serving, I mean half of this Lenny & Larry’s Choc-O-Mint cookie and I felt it’s a bit too little for one serving. Eventually, it’s only 56.5g. And I felt I could eat more of it, but having in mind its macros…
Well, macros. One serving of this cookie, I mean half a cookie, has 200 kcal, 7g of fat, 32g(!) of carbs (including 13g of sugar) and a miserable 8g of protein. Oh, and 5g of fibre too. Now, if you’d like to eat the entire cookie, it would be 400 kcal, 64g(!) of carbs and only 16g of protein. It doesn’t look good. As well as the ingredients list, containing added sugar and palm oil.
Therefore, it can’t be the finest protein cookie on the go for sure.
Come on, Lenny. Come on, Larry. Don’t do that anymore.
Lenny & Larry’s The Complete Cookie Choc-O-Mint cookie is not perfect when it comes to its taste. And it’s macros. And it’s ingredients. Also, it could be not so misleading when it comes to the information you can find on its packaging. And although this protein cookie is not so bad, I can still see a lot of room for improvement here.
Will I ever go back to this protein cookie? I don’t think so. It’s not bad, but I don’t like it when someone plays not that fair.
