Be careful. These two guys do not play fair. And their protein cookie is not the tastiest one.
Yes, I know, another Birthday Cake flavour protein snack. But hey, why do not have more birthday cakes than once a year? Anyway, these two guys don’t play fair. The packaging of this cookie says ’16g protein per cookie’ and ’10g per cookie’. The thing is, however, one cookie means two servings. And 400 kcal. And a staggering 64g(!) of carbs. This is brave. And not too fair at the same time. So let’s have a closer, a really close look at this Lenny & Larry’s The Complete Cookie Birthday Cake.
If you know what a Birthday Cake (flavour) smells like… Well, I’m sure you do. But you won’t find that scent here. Instead of that, this cookie smells sweetish, like a moist cake. And it’s up to you whether you like it or not. Also, there’s a slightly detectable bitterish whiff too, so overall, it’s not too inviting. A pretty soft on the outside, this protein cookie is alike on the inside. Therefore, it means no hassle with biting into it. Furthermore, it’s only slightly chewy and barely sticky. So you may, or you may not need a sip while eating it.
Three days after, this is what a cake tastes like.
This protein cookie tastes like a cake. Not a Birthday Cake, but something similar to it. Despite it, it’s not too bad. Of course, as long as you like three days old and damp cake. Also, it’s sweetish, but not purely sweet or satisfying. Overall, it’s not too bad, but I wouldn’t want to celebrate my birthday this way.
Do I want another serving of this Lenny & Larry’s Birthday Cake cookie after the first one? Not actually. It’s not too lovely either tasty (and this is nothing unusual when it comes to
You see, the packaging of this cookie says ’16g protein per cookie’ and ’10g fibre per cookie’. And everything would be OK if one cookie would be one serving. But it never is! A single cookie means two servings. So either, this cookie is not bad when it comes to macros per serving or it’s pretty bad when it comes to the entire cookie. Let’s have a look at both options.
One cookie means 10g of fibre and 16g of protein. And that’s what the packaging of it says. However, going this way, we get also two servings (one cookie = two servings), 400 kcal(!), 10g of fat and 64g(!) of carbs. Wow, that’s massive macros!
Or maybe we should take one serving into consideration? If so, then one serving of this The Complete Cookie has only 200 kcal, 5g of fat, 32g of carbs(!), 12g of sugar and only 8g of protein. Well, not too impressive. And not what its packaging says.
Yes, I know, in theory, everything is OK, as no one said one cookie is one serving. However, it’s a common sense that one cookie means one serving. And anything else than that claim is not too
Also, what we’ve got here is the fact it can’t be the finest protein cookie on the go.
Not too tasty, not too lean, not too fair.
Lenny & Larry’s The Complete Cookie Birthday Cake is not too complete. Not for me. It’s not too tasty, it has staggering macros (or its packaging is somehow misleading) and not too good ingredients. And although it’s pretty comfortable to eat it’s still doesn’t mean much in this case.
Will I ever go back to this protein cookie? No chances for that. It’s not too tasty and this is a good reason to skip it next time.
