This protein bar has changed since last time. For the worse. It’s not as tasty as it used to be. It’s also not that comfortable to eat than before. And right now the overall experience of it goes down from ‘well worth stocking’ to ‘meeeh’.
I ate this protein bar sometime in the middle of 2018 and it was absolutely amazing that time! Flavourish, tasty, comfortable to eat and without any weird aftertaste. However, many things have been changed in this bar since then, including its weight. Now Fulfil Triple Chocolate Deluxe flavour protein bar is available in two sizes, 55g and 40g. And I’m going to have a closer look at the latter one. And I already know it’s not going to be a good review.
It’s not an aromatic protein bar anymore. Instead of easily distinguishable three chocolate scents, now we can only differ two of them. It still is a nice-smelling and inviting protein bar though. Ease of eating changed as well. Now it’s only reasonably easy to eat, being pretty tough on the outside and only softish on the inside. It’s not as comfortable to eat as it was before. All of that, because it is somewhat chewy and it sticks to the teeth a bit. What is a good thing, however, its really OK when it comes to its moistness. So most likely you won’t need a sip while eating it. Still, with its white chocolate coating and cocoa nibs on it, it looks a bit posh.
And as all of those things above wouldn’t be so bad after all, I can’t forgive that dramatic change in the flavour of this Fulfil bar.
Over the last year, it went down from ‘OMG! It’s absolutely delicious!’ to ‘it’s far from being tasty’. How has this happened? Although this protein bar is sweetish and nicely crunchy (hello cocoa nibs!), it’s also not well balanced. Forget about distinguishing all three chocolate flavours like it was before. Two of them is the most what you can notice right now. Also, there’s something new here, its bitterish aftertaste… Yes, I know… And it ruins everything, making this bar not too tasty. Hence, it’s not satisfying nor fulfilling. It’s highly disappointing. It’s a tragicomedy…
Am I fancy another serving after the first one? If you got me the ‘old’ Fulfil Triple Chocolate Deluxe flavour protein bar, I’d say ‘give me another one right now!’. But now? Well, it’s smaller (40g instead of 55g), it’s much worse, so I say ‘
As this bar is a ‘mini’ version of regular one (40g instead of 55g), its macros are also a bit lower. So here we’ve got only 156 kcal, 7g of fat, 11g of carbs (and only 2g of sugar) and not so bad 15g of protein. And it also has 9 vitamins and minerals that cover 75% of your RI (Reference Intake). Not too bad considering its weight. However, added sugar and palm fat are not what we’ve got to see in the ingredients list, but they’re still there.
Considering that, it can’t be the finest protein bar on the go. It’s not even a tasty protein bar on the go…
You have changed, mate. For the worse. Much worse.
How could this happen? Fulfil Triple Chocolate Deluxe flavour Vitamin and Protein Bar has changed dramatically over the last year. It’s not as tasty as it used to be, it’s not that comfortable to eat and overall experience of eating it went down from ‘OMG! I want more of it!’ to ‘naaah, that’s enough for me’. Too bad. A huuuge disappointment.
Will I ever go back to this protein bar? Absolutely not! Remembering how tasty and delicious it was before, now it’s just an average protein bar. It’s not good and definitely not worth even trying, not telling about stocking. And it is totally opposite to what it was not so long time ago. And on a par with another flavour from this range, Chocolate Salted Caramel Flavour. Or another protein bar with vitamins.
P.S. There is at least one bar that has not changed at all over the last year. And you should definitely give it a try. It’s PhD Diet Whey Salted Caramel Protein Bar that scored a fantastic 7.5/10 pts, landing in our TOP 3 protein snacks recently.
