A protein bar with vitamins and minerals? That may make sense. But extras alone won’t make any bar a good one. So is that bar anything more than a bar with vitamins? Let’s see.
Fulfil has a whole range of their vitamins and protein bars. We already reviewed a Chocolate Orange flavour and it turned out to be pretty good. Now it’s time for another taste, Chocolate Hazelnut Whip, one of the latest from the Fulfil universe. And there are more to come very soon.
This bar welcomes us with a lovely and intense aroma of milk chocolate and hazelnut. It’s sweet and inviting, making me want to bite into it with no doubt. However, it may be slightly not too comfortable, as from the outside this bar is somewhat toughish. Additionally, it’s interior is not too soft, so some may find it slightly troublesome to bite into it. On top of that, this snack is pretty chewy and sticks to the teeth. Therefore, a sip or two may be needed while eating it. It’s nothing uncomfortable, though, but there are bars much more teeth-friendly.
Anyway, the taste of this protein bar may recompensate it in any way.
There’s a whole lot of chocolate and hazelnuts in this treat.
Both are easily detectable, pleasant and satisfyingly sweet (but not too sweet). As a result, this protein bar will make its way as a sweet protein treat. And last, but not least, there’s no weird aroma or aftertaste in it. Happy days.
So if it’s so good, then do I want another serving after the first one? Well, it was really close to that. However, I don’t like struggling with my snacks, so one serving is OK for me.
Fulfil protein bars are pretty good when it comes to macros. Thus, a 55g bar has 210 kcal, 9.7g of fat, 15g of carbs (including only 1.9g of sugar) and pretty rounded 20g of protein. Also, 9 vitamins and minerals covering 100% of your NRV (Nutrient Reference Value). Not bad. However, there are also added sugar and palm fat on the ingredients list, so this is nothing to brag.
Can it be considered the finest protein bar on the go? Not actually. Added sugar and palm oil in the ingredients make it impossible here.
A fulfilling protein bar with some benefits (and flaws).
Fulfil Chocolate Hazelnut Whip Protein Bar is an enjoyable treat. It’s delicious, it has really good macros and overall experience of it is really OK. However, it could be more comfortable to eat and have better ingredients. In other words, if you like milk chocolate and hazelnuts and you don’t care about (nearly) anything else, then you should give it a try. Will I ever go back to this protein bar? It’s hard to say. It’s a lovely protein bar per se, but not too comfortable to eat and with these ingredients. Well, it may happen I won’t, eventually. And in this case I won’t definitely.
