A tiny protein flapjack with 21% of protein. And free from nearly anything. With not a bad taste, but with a bit of bitterish aroma. This is not a bad recipe for success. But the execution of it could be a bit better.
These tiny protein flapjacks from Creative Nature Superfoods are pretty funny. They only weigh 40g and they have pretty good macros. But at the same time, they’re not perfect when it comes to their flavour. That what it was like with another flavour from this range, Cacao Orange. And this is what it’s like with this flavour, Apple Pie.
This protein flapjack won’t turn your head with its smell. It’s just OK, with an apple pie aroma easily detectable. But there’s also an acidulous touch in it. Still, it’s not bad and it’s somewhat inviting. A pretty softish on the outside, this flapjack is surprisingly soft on the inside. This means it’s effortless to bite into it and eat. It’s only barely chewy and slightly sticky. Therefore, it’s moist is pretty acceptable.
An apple pie with an acidulous touch.
This protein flapjack tastes pretty good. An apple pie flavour is easily detectable and it’s quite nice. Same as with its scent, you can also taste that acidulous touch in it. And it wouldn’t be so bad if there wasn’t also a bit of bitterish aroma in it. As a result of that, this snack is not too sweet or satisfying. In a word, this protein bar is somewhat OK in the term of its flavour, but it’s nothing exceptional. And desirable.
Do I want another serving of this Creative Nature Superfoods protein bar after the first one? Not actually. It was pleasant to eat due to its lovely soft texture. But its flavour wasn’t anything super-duper.
A tiny flapjack means tiny macros. This one only weighs 40g and it only has 152 kcal and a modest 3.5g of fat. A not too exaggerated 20g of carbs goes along with only 8.1g of protein. Not bad, but… Anyway, t
These macros mean this protein flapjack is a bit underpowered. And this makes this snack not the finest protein flapjack on the go.
A tiny flapjack with a tiny flavour-related flaw.
Creative Nature Superfoods Apple Pie Protein Flapjack 21% Protein could be a pretty lovely snack on the go. The problem is, it doesn’t taste extraordinary. And this is the only, a tiny one flaw in it that didn’t allow it to be the snack you could take with yourself and eat it without worrying about your macros.
Will I ever go back to this protein flapjack? Not actually. It’s not really tasty and this one of the most important thing in protein snacks, right? Instead of that, I’d go for this PhD SmartJack Apple Crumble. It’s not perfect, either. But it tastes much better than this tiny one.
