Battle Bites 2 Protein Pieces Cookies & Cream

On average, 2 Protein Pieces from Battle Bites are pretty good. But, unfortunately, not this one. And the taste is the only reason I didn’t like it much. Too bad, as besides that they have many other advantages.

Cookies & Cream is one of the most popular flavours of protein bars. There are many of them on the market. And there are many of them we reviewed so far. One of the best and the tastiest turned out to be NEW maxi muscle Promax Lean protein bar and PhD SmartBar. This Battle Bites 2 Protein Pieces Cookies & Cream tries to join them. But with that flavour, I’m afraid it won’t be possible.

Its fragrance is not too exciting as well. These protein pieces have a slightly sweetish smell. But it’s nothing like famous Cookies & Cream flavour for sure. It’s somewhat OK, but at the same time, it’s not too engaging. A really soft on the outside, these pieces are alike on the inside. This means biting into them is both effortless and pleasant. Also, the pieces are slightly chewy and sticky. And crunchy, thanks to cocoa soya crispies coating. On top of that, they’re perfectly moist. Well done.

This is not what Cookies & Cream flavour taste like.

These Battle Bites protein pieces are definitely sweet. A caramel layer covered by ‘milk chocolate flavour coating’ adds a bit of sweetness. Fortunately, that doesn’t make these pieces too sweet or oversweet. The other thing is, however, this flavour is nothing like Cookies & Cream we know. It lacks a vanilla flavour. And like it’s not enough, there’s also a touch of bitterness in them. And if you ever had Oreo biscuits (and I’m pretty sure you had), you will easily spot the difference between these two flavours. Anyway, these pieces are not too bad in their flavour, but it’s not Cookies & Cream definitely.

Do I want another serving of these Battle Bites 2 Protein Pieces after the first one? Not actually. They were good, but not good enough to have more of them straight away.

And again, these protein pieces are pretty good when it comes to their macros. Same as all Protein Pieces we reviewed so far, by the way. 1 serving of two pieces (62g) has 227 kcal, 8.7g of fat, only 14.9g of carbs (including 2.5g of sugar) and a rounded 20g of protein. Not too bad. However, a pretty looong ingredients list contains palm oil.

And the latter one is the reason it’s not the finest protein bar pieces on the go.

This is not THAT flavour.

Battle Bites 2 Protein Pieces Cookies & Cream

Battle Bites 2 Protein Pieces Cookies & Cream are pretty strange. Nearly all of the aspects we take into consideration are very good in them. Except for their flavour. It’s simply anything you know from this classic Cookies & Cream flavour. It’s decently sweet, it’s not too bad, but still, it’s not Cookies & Cream flavour. Too bad, as these could be decently good protein pieces.

Will I ever go back to these 2 Protein Pieces in the future? Not actually. They are pretty good in many aspects, indeed. But they could be definitely much better when it comes to their flavour.
