Veloforte AVANTI Salted Energy Bar

Veloforte AVANTI Salted Energy Bar

Some kind of disappointment. It’s not what sweetness and saltiness could be merged into. A tasty, but still not fulfiling energy bar. After all, it was supposed to be much better than that.

Don’t get us wrong. This Veloforte AVANTI is a delicious energy bar. And it will find its way to many, many active hearts. But it lacks that consummate skill that would kick it two levels above the competitors. That elusive mastery we saw in CLASSICO Citrus energy bar that put a magic spell on us recently.

Veloforte AVANTI Salted Energy Bar

And when we talk about an excellent blending of two opposing ingredients, i.e. sweetness and saltiness, we’ve got just one specific and brilliant example of that. Grenade Carb Killa White Chocolate Salted Peanut protein bar. A true masterpiece when it comes to sweet-o-salty treat. A must taste protein bar. A must taste blend. Period.

We’re coming back to Veloforte AVANTI. It comes with a really nice scent of dried dates and salt. It’s not too intensive, but it’s still appetising.

Not too tough on the outside bar is also not too softish inside. However, you shouldn’t have any problem eating it.

Although it’s heavy chewy and sticks to your teeth noticeably. That’s why you’d better off having sip now and then.

Veloforte knows it well how to blend tastes. Dried dates in the form of filling (similarly to another energy bar from Veloforte, CIOCCO Dates) plus pecans and almonds inside if it. And it’s spiced with a bit of salt. That makes lovely and tasty composition that may be a bit too sweet for some. Anyway, there’s no weird aftertaste at all. Therefore, it’s a delicious, sweet and really satisfying snack. However, it misses that uniqueness. Something that would make you shout out loud after the first bite ‘OMG! It’s absolutely DELICIOUS’. Still, it’s better than ‘very good’ though.

Do we want another serving of this Veloforte AVANTI energy bar after the first one? Since it’s a pretty sweet snack, one serving is enough for us.

Macros is another thing that could be tuned up slightly here. A 70g bar has 285 kcal, 9.1g of fat, 45.7g of carbs (including 31.8g of sugar) and 5.7g of protein. A bit too much of everything for a pure energy bar. But the good news is there’s no palm fat in the ingredients list. Nice.

Can it be the finest energy bar on the go? Well, it’s tasty and definitely sweet. But at the same time, it turns out to be slightly exaggerated when it comes to its macros. So no.

Nice taste. But not perfect.

After CLASSICO Citrus energy bar we had high hopes regarding this bar. And it met our expectations, partly. It’s delicious, but not a mastery in this class. It’s pretty easy to eat, but still chewy and sticks to your teeth. It makes its way as a sweet treat, but it may be too sweet for some. And these macros and ingredients. They are both not bad, but still…

Will we ever go back to this energy bar? We don’t think so. It’s good, indeed. But it’s not very good. And a bit too sweet for us. And although we’ve reviewed only one more bar from Veloforte so far, the CLASSICO bar it’s still a better option than this one.

P.S. There are seven different energy bars in Veloforte range and we’re going to review all of them pretty soon! So stay tuned!
