MyProtein Chocolate Orange Protein Cookie

MyProtein Chocolate Orange Protein Cookie

If you gave Cookie Monster this MyProtein cookie, it would get mad definitely. And even if you are not a cookie monster, you may get upset too due to this treat. Unless the taste isn’t the most important you’re after?

When it comes to protein snacks, we are pretty demanding. Apart from their macros, good ingredients, ease of eating and so on, it also must be tasty. Otherwise, we won’t recommend that treat to anybody. And as their macros or ingredients are not the most important thing (we can sometimes turn a blind eye to that), we will never compromise on the taste. If something is not tasty, it doesn’t exist for us. Period. And guess what? That’s the situation we’ve got here with MyProtein Protein Cookie Chocolate Orange flavour.

MyProtein Chocolate Orange Protein Cookie

Let’s start from the end. Well, protein cookies are not best friends when you’re cutting or on a weight management diet. 320 kcal per 75g cookie is nothing you can easily fit your macro. 9.9g of fat and 19.6g of carbs (of which 7.3g of sugar) is not too bad though. Also, a whopping 38g of protein (if it’s accurate, but we’re in doubt of it) is worth mentioning. But still, it’s 320 kcal per serving, so that it may happen it’ll be 1/5 or even 1/4 of your daily intake. Add to that added sugar and palm fat in ingredients list and it’s nothing we’d recommend.

And, as you may guess, it won’t win any title for a sustainable protein cookie on the go. Because of the above reasons. Sorted.

Now, a few more secondary issues. This cookie smells not too bad.

There’s a lot of orange scents, but chocolate one turns out to be lost somewhere.

It’s there, but it’s barely detectable. Despite that, the treat smell is solid and strong, making it still really tempting. It’s getting even better when you realise it’s really soft from the outside, on a par with inside. What’s more, it’s slightly chewy, barely trying to stick to your teeth. It has a bit of grainy texture and is somewhat dryish. Never mind.

Now, let’s go to the hearth of the matter. The taste. Well, this is the moment when your inner cookie monster may get angry. Or even get mad. The thing is both ingredients from the package, i.e. chocolate and orange, are not enough intensive. What’s more, there’s a lot, and we mean really a lot of bitterness here too. Add to this that disturbing bitterness you’re being left with, after eating the whole cookie and there’s no surprise Cookie Monster would give that cookie a thumb down. So would we.

Do we want another cookie after the first one? Guess who a real cookie monster is in Badass family? Yep, Pako is. And as he answered this question: don’t fall foul of my inner cookie monster! So we guess it means: nope.

This is not a cookie for cookie monsters

If you have an inner cookie monster in yourself, then feel free to skip that cookie. If you haven’t, there’s still nothing you would find for yourself here. All of that because of that cookie is far from being anything that would satisfy you, giving you a bit of pleasure and enjoyment. Unless the bitterness is your whole world.

It’s not ours, so we won’t go back to that cookie in the future.

P.S. New branding, same old sh*t. Sorry for that expression, but it fits here perfectly. We had some experience with MyProtein cookies in the past (with an old, white and blue branding). And as far as we can remember, it was virtually the same as right now. So, well, consistency is the key, as they say, right?
